NYboL has two types of members: full brothers and associate members. Full brothers are expected to identify as leatherboys and to attend a majority of meetings and events. They also have the right and responsibility to participate in and vote on club business and to wear club colors. Conversely, associate members do not have to identify as leatherboys, and are not expected to attend meetings or events, although of course they are always welcome. People who choose to become associate members are usually those who wish to support NYboL, but cannot fulfill the membership requirements of full brotherhood. Both types of membership require the submission of an application and payment of dues, but only full brothers are required to go through a probationary process.
We encourage anyone who is interested in becoming a member of NYboL to contact us – by sending an email to secretary@nybol.org, by coming to one of our events or by attending our monthly general meeting. Our meetings are open to the public, although only full brothers are allowed to vote, and take place every second Thursday of the month at 8:00 PM at:
